The USAID/Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) has opened a new position for a Disaster Operations Specialist (Multiple Positions) located in Washington, DC. This is a full time Personal Services Contract (PSC) position at the GS-11 equivalent level. The position is open to U.S. citizens only due to security clearance requirements.

 

This announcement is open and continuous until October 30, 2009, although selections may be made in advance of that date. It is OFDA's intent to contract with multiple PSCs under this solicitation. The deadline for the first review period is February 11, 2009 at 5:00pm EST.

With funding from USAID and the European Commission, Mercy Corps is implementing multi year programs to support the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) in Sudan through the delivery of tangible peace dividends and building capacity of State and County governments.  Tangible peace dividends will be supported in the areas of livelihoods, water, sanitation, health and education. Government capacity building will address skills related to service delivery, fiscal management, and effective consultation with stakeholders (including civil society).  The current programming portfolio includes consortia funded by EC and USAID and independent programs funded by OFDA and EC.
