We are requesting a 25+ hour per week minimum commitment. The internship duration is a minimum of 3 months and we prefer candidates who can stay 6 months.
Search for Common Ground’s mission is to transform how individuals, organizations, and governments deal with conflict—away from adversarial approaches and toward cooperative solutions. We design and implement multifaceted programs that aim to resolve conflict and prevent violence, and we seek to help conflicting parties understand their differences and act on their commonalities.

Job description:
The USAID/Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) has opened a new position for a Disaster Operations Specialist (Multiple Positions) located in Washington, DC. This is a full time Personal Services Contract (PSC) position at the GS-11 equivalent level. The position is open to U.S. citizens only due to security clearance requirements. This announcement is open and continuous until October 30, 2009, although selections may be made in advance of that date. It is OFDA's intent to contract with multiple PSCs under this solicitation. The deadline for the first review period is February 11, 2009 at 5:00pm EST.

Job description:
The Centre for Conflict Resolution (CCR) is an independent, non-governmental organization, which is not for profit making whose mandate is to seek peace in Kenya by promoting constructive, creative and co-operative approaches to the prevention, management and resolution of conflicts. The Centre has especially been very active in the last nine years when grants were secured from USAID and Ford Foundation. This has been enhanced by further donations from D.F.I.D, Action Aid –Kenya, LiMid, UNDP, and material support from ICRC. Specifically, peacebuilding programme has since 1999 been supported by USAID , Ford Foundation, the British government and Action Aid.
