Description: In May 2007, the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) had the pleasure of launching the Weidenfeld Scholarships and Leadership Programme. The Weidenfeld Scholarships offer exceptional postgraduate students and young professionals primarily from Eastern Europe, Russia, Central Asia, North Africa and the Middle East the opportunity to pursue graduate studies at Oxford University and to participate in a comprehensive programme of leadership development, with access to senior figures from the public and private sectors. Following an intensive selection process in April 2008, the 2008-2009 Weidenfeld Scholarships were awarded to twenty-five extraordinary young people.


Description: The James R. Millar Graduate Student Prize provides up to $500 annually for the winning graduate student research paper in the humanities and social sciences regarding current or former communist regimes. Winners will receive support from the editorial staff of Problems of Post Communism to prepare the paper for publication.

Description:

The fellow will be placed with the Trust Fund for Victims of the International Criminal Court, located in The Hague, The Netherlands for a six-month internship with a strong possibility of continued work for an additional six months thereafter (total of 1 year).  The fellow will receive a $15,000 stipend for living/travel expenses for the first six month period.  The arrangement for the second six month period will be negotiated directly with the Trust Fund.

 

The goal of the fellowship is to assist the Trust Fund in developing and implementing an integrated monitoring and evaluation system to support programs and projects of Trust Fund grantees, including field research. The results of the field research will be instrumental in assisting the Trust Fund to develop and support effective and appropriate services.  In particular, the fellow will work on designing research and conducting data collection related to program planning, monitoring and evaluation.   The fellow will work with Trust Fund staff to:



Description: SIS Graduate students are invited to submit applications for funding to attend an academic conference and/or travel for research support. Award recipients will be given $500 for domestic travel and up to $1000 for international travel to offset conference registration fees and/or travel costs.


Description:

KCC-Japan Education Exchange will award a $24,000 fellowship to a graduate student who intends to do research in Japan for one year. There are no restrictions as to place of study or research in Japan, field of study, or age of applicant. Preference will be given to applicants who have documented interest in Japanese studies, such as the arts, culture, education, language, history, or journalism. Preference will be given to those advanced graduate applicants who provide written confirmation of the research or study site in Japan. The recipient must have a record of teaching effectively about Japan, or who show promise to do so in the future.
